Bus Vannin ambulance servicing improved by TotalKare vehicle lifts

Ambulances on the Isle of Man are set to stay on the road for longer following the the installation of two brand new vehicle lifts in Isle of Man Transport’s Bus Vannin workshop.

The government-owned and operated bus service on the Isle of Man has expanded its workshop capacity with the installation of two light commercial four post lifts from TotalKare. This follows a restructure five years ago bringing the maintenance of the ambulance fleet under the Isle of Man Transport umbrella. The addition of the new four post lifts will help facilitate safe and efficient repair and maintenance of the emergency vehicles.

Ideal solution for light commercial lifting

TotalKare’s light commercial four post lift is one of the newest in its product range and part of a multi-product launch this year, along with a wash-bay mobile column lift and mobile and in-ground brake testers.

The light commercial four post lift provides a lifting capacity of 6,500kg and a range of platform lengths from 5.1 – 6m. With jacking beam and lighting options available, and the ability to be surface mounted or recessed, the lift provides an ideal solution for any light commercial lifting requirement.

“Invaluable support”

Karl Woolford, Engineering Manager at Bus Vannin, said: “We were pleased to hear that TotalKare were introducing their new light commercial four post lift which has improved the working environment for the maintenance team.
“We have been using TotalKare’s heavy duty mobile column lifts to service and maintain our bus fleet for some time now so we knew the product would be up to the task, and accompanied with TotalKare’s comprehensive aftermarket support, invaluable on an island in the middle of the Irish Sea! We are extremely happy with the new product”.

Brian Young, National Accounts Manager at TotalKare commented: “We’ve had an exciting year so far launching new products for our customers. I am delighted that the expansion of our range has enabled us to support Bus Vannin with their important venture into maintaining the Island’s ambulance fleet.”
